When my 7-year-old daughter was diagnosed with learning disabilities, I asked Helen Peterson to be her tutor. Helen accepted the challenge and continued working with her until she completed her bachelor’s degree. The education she received prepared her for a rewarding career and would not have been possible without the support and dedication of Helen Peterson. Our family will be forever grateful to Helen for her patience, her persistence, and her friendship
"Hello, I’m Joanna, a former student of Helen from Fairfax County, Virginia. I’m a military kid and a student who learned differently. Helen recognized my strengths and worked with them, while also helping me overcome my academic weaknesses. We’ve had a long-standing student-tutor and family relationship since I was in the third grade.
I struggled with math and understanding concepts. Helen took me under her wing and worked with me every day after school. As I grew older and the classes became more challenging, she also assisted me with various subjects where I faced difficulties. She was incredibly patient and meticulous in her approach. She made sure I understood the subjects and making sure I was prepared for my tests. My grades did show and I did get the honor roll a few times.
Helen worked with me from the third grade all the way through my Bachelor’s degree. Throughout this time, she became a family member and she would also be someone I could always rely on for academic support. I often say that she should have earned my degrees alongside me! I will always be eternally grateful to Helen for her remarkable impact on my grades and academics, as well as for being there for me during all my graduations".
She holds a special place in my heart, and I am incredibly proud to be a former student of hers.

Above all, her compassion, attentiveness, and genuine care inspire students to stay motivated, curious, and engaged in their learning"
